These terms cover the use of this website and the general basis on which Eascope Expeditions provides safari, trekking and travel services in Tanzania, Kenya, Uganda and Rwanda.
Your booking confirmation is the contract. The specific terms of your trip — the price, what is and is not included, the deposit, the payment schedule and the cancellation and refund terms — are set out in the written quotation and booking confirmation we send you. Those documents govern your booking. Where anything on this page differs from them, your booking confirmation takes precedence.
Prices shown on this website are indicative starting prices, given per person and normally based on two people sharing. They are not offers and they are not guaranteed. Safari pricing depends on season, group size, accommodation standard, park fees and permit availability on your specific dates, so a firm price only exists once we have sent you a written quotation.
Park entry fees, concession fees, gorilla and chimpanzee permits and government taxes are set by the authorities of each country and can change without notice. If they change between your quotation and your travel dates, the difference may be passed on. We will always tell you before that happens.
A booking is confirmed when we have received your deposit and issued a written booking confirmation. Deposit amounts, payment deadlines and accepted payment methods are stated in your quotation. Certain items — gorilla and chimpanzee permits above all — must be paid for in full at the time of booking because the permit is purchased immediately and is issued in your name.
Cancellation charges depend on how far in advance you cancel and on the individual terms of the lodges, camps and permit authorities involved. The scale that applies to your trip is set out in your quotation and booking confirmation. Please read it before you pay a deposit and ask us about anything that is not clear.
Gorilla and chimpanzee permits are, as a rule, non-refundable and non-transferable once issued. This is the policy of the park authorities, not ours.
We may need to change an itinerary — a road washed out, a park closure, a lodge failure, a security or weather situation. Where that happens we will provide the nearest equivalent arrangement we can and tell you as soon as we know.
Comprehensive travel insurance is a condition of travelling with us. Your policy must cover medical treatment, emergency evacuation and repatriation. If you are climbing Kilimanjaro or trekking the Rwenzoris, it must cover high-altitude trekking to the maximum altitude on your route. We recommend cover for cancellation, curtailment and baggage as well.
You are responsible for holding a valid passport, the correct visas and any required vaccination certificates — yellow fever in particular is required for entry in parts of the region depending on your route. We are glad to advise, but requirements are set by governments, they change, and confirming your own are correct remains your responsibility.
Safari and mountain travel carries inherent risk. Wild animals are wild, terrain is rough, medical facilities can be far away, and altitude affects people unpredictably. You agree to follow the instructions of your guide, driver, and park and lodge staff at all times, particularly around wildlife and on the mountain. Our guides may end an activity, or a climb, where they judge it unsafe to continue — that decision is final and is made for your safety.
We may decline to carry, or may remove from a trip, anyone whose behaviour endangers themselves, other travellers, our staff, wildlife or the communities we visit, without refund.
We will put you in the right place at the right time with an experienced guide. No operator can guarantee that a particular animal will be seen, and nobody honest will tell you otherwise.
We take responsibility for arranging your trip with reasonable skill and care. We are not liable for loss or injury caused by events beyond our reasonable control — including weather, natural events, wildlife behaviour, strikes, civil unrest, border or park closures, airline delays and cancellations, or the acts of third-party suppliers operating under their own terms. Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
We work to keep the descriptions, photographs and prices on this site accurate and current, but the site is provided for information and may contain errors or out-of-date material. Photographs are illustrative of the region and the experience, and are not a promise of specific accommodation, vehicles or sightings. The text, layout and design of this site are our property; please do not reproduce them without our permission.
These terms are governed by the laws of the United Republic of Tanzania.
